Peter Hofer

Peter Hofer is a researcher at Oracle Labs Austria. He works on GraalVM Native Image, a virtual machine with fast startup and small footprint for ahead-of-time compiled Java code. His recent work focuses on memory management and utilization, foreign function and memory access, continuations and virtual threads, fast object persistence, and in-process isolated execution.

For his Ph.D., Peter researched low-overhead and effective profiling of method calls and lock contention on the Java VM level.
