GraalVM: introduction and experiences from the implementation of R and Python

GraalVM is multilingual VM built on top of JVM and developed by Oracle Labs. Part of the development team is located in Prague. The talk will introduce GraalVM and its various components: JIT compiler, AOT compilation, Truffle language implementation framework. We will also discuss the realities of the development of alternative implementations of existing and well established programming languages such as JavaScript, R, and Python.
