I am a Research Director at Oracle Labs. I am responsible for advancing the research agenda for diverse projects while ensuring they make a strong impact on Oracle's business. I co-lead the Privacy Preserving Machine Learning research group, and am also responsible for managing projects such as probabilistic programming and optimization. My broad research interests are Privacy in Machine Learning, Probabilistic Modeling and Natural Language Processing (NLP). I am interested in privacy measurement through attacks, federated learning, differential privacy and secure computing. I am also interested in how Privacy Enhancing Technologies apply to actual ML use cases and AI governance within organizations. During my tenure at Oracle, I have worked closely with several different product groups on real world applications of Machine Learning. These application domains include Sales, Marketing, HR, Retail, Finance, Healthcare, Document Understanding and Social Media Analytics. Many of these collaborations have resulted in new product features, patents and publications. I completed my PhD in Computer Science from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, my M.S. from New York University, and my Bachelor of Engineering from University of Mumbai in India. I have served on the senior advisory board for Women in Machine Learning.
