Roland Schatz
Roland Schatz is a researcher at Oracle Labs Austria. He is working on GraalVM.
He is currently the team lead of the "Sulong" project, working on the GraalVM LLVM runtime and the Truffle NFI (Native Function Interface). His research interests include compilers, programming languages, virtual machines and managed runtimes. In praticular he is currently working on the challenges of interfacing managed runtimes with the native world, and on safe execution of native code.
In the past, he has worked on advanced optimizations in the Graal compiler, in particular autovectorization. He got his PhD at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. His PhD topic was automatic error detection in automation software.
