Ewan Slater is part of the product management team for Oracle Labs' GraalVM.

He joined Oracle in 2005 and prior to joining Oracle Labs held a number of roles at the EMEA and global levels, focussing on application development centric technologies and cloud computing.

He has contributed to a number of Oracle open source projects, particularly the Fn project which developed into the OCI Functions service.

He began his career as a research scientist, which included writing a lot of mathematical models and then switched to software development.  Before Oracle, he worked as a developer and implementation consultant for a number of organisations, mainly in the financial services industry.
