FPGA Offload


  • The Fast Loader project aims to develop hardware offload engines to accelerate existing software for high value applications, such as relational and NOSQL databases, main memory algorithms, and big-data applications. The aim is to improve cluster performance, application scaling and reduce system power or IO needs. This is achieved using reconfigurable computing built from FPGAs and many-core processors. Our approach is based on the development of an innovative language and design flow for hardware and software co-design, whose malleability allows functions to be traded off between hardware and software, and for hardware development to deliver under more aggresive time to market schedules.
